When started, xgrpadmin presents an initial password panel asking if the user wants to use an existing set of Kerberos credentials (if available) for authentication or to establish a new identity for authorization purposes by entering an principal name and password. Be advised that (modulo SSH-style connection tunneling) the password will be transmitted in clear-text across the network if xgrpadmin is running on a remote machine.
Once authenticated, a single panel with buttons invoking the four major categories of group management (creation/deletion, membership, ownership and logingroups) appears. Help text for each of these functions is available from the Help menu in the top right corner. Further information may be obtained from the grpadmin(1) manual page.
Some functions (such as group creation) are only available to privileged users; buttons related to these functions may be grayed out and inactive.
