René Just is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington. His research interests are in software engineering, software security, and data science, in particular static and dynamic program analysis, developer productivity, and applied statistics and machine learning.
Just is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Award and two Most Influential Paper (10-year test-of-time) Awards. His research won multiple distinguished paper awards and honorable mentions. He develops research and educational infrastructures that are widely adopted by other researchers and instructors (e.g., Defects4J and the Major mutation framework).
