Biography:

Justin Hsia is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at the University of Washington, Seattle (UW).

Hsia’s teaching interests are in lower division computer science and engineering courses, with experience teaching Computer Organization, Systems Programming, Digital Logic, Computer Science Principles, Circuits, and Control. Other interests include Embedded Systems, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Signals and Systems.

He is also very interested in teacher development, co-leading CSE General TA Training and having originated the role of CSE Summer Courses Coordinator. He was the UW in the High School faculty coordinator for CSE110 (Computer Science Principles) from 2017-2021, while it was still being offered.

Hsia received his education (Ph.D., M.S., dual B.S.) primarily from the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was part of the Networked Dynamical Systems Group under Professor Murat Arcak.
